What to Wear?
Clothing is the most important factor in your headshot, but it is definitely not the focus. With proper clothing, your face commands attention and clothing itself becomes secondary. Wearing the wrong clothing takes attention away from where you want it – on you and on your face.
Dress in the fashion which you feel best represents both you and your company.
For a formal business portrait, dress as you would if you were making a presentation
to your most important clients or associates.
For a more casual portrait, you still want to wear something that looks upscale and smart.

Important tools for Great Photography
Get Lots of Light!
Natural light works best for any type of photo and should be used whenever possible. Typically, shooting your photos during the day will grant the best results. What matters is not only the quantity of the light, but the uniformity and distribution also.
Hard shadows are created when the size of the light source is small compared to the size of the subject. Conversely, soft shadows are created when the size of the light source is larger than the subject. For your needs you want to aim for soft shadow.
To avoid a hard shadows, we use a flash diffusers. In turn, the light will be distributed in a softer, more even way in all parts of the object, rather than be centered in one spot.
This video is a compilation of still photography and video images to create a marketing and training video. Notice the even soft lighting on each of our images. Professional quality does make a difference.

Product images for specific industries require a special type of photography. Unlike most products which are being sold to the general public, industry specific devices and equipment are generally being marketed to highly target audiences. The photographer must focus more on functionality and feature details than other product lines which may wish to focus more on the aesthetic or emotional components.
These medical images were shot in our studio for medical marketing and training purposes. We can also shoot most items on location if hindered by size or deadline of the shoot.

Food can be so much fun to shoot! The aromas, the visuals, extras! Anyway, have backups for when situations happen. A good chef will certainly bring an “A” game to the shoot. A food stylist is often a great person to have, most budgets should allow a moderate fee for this much needed service. Lighting and composition the next important steps can be most critical depending on the end result. In other words what is the media you will be shooting for? Large glossy images for print? Steaming images for video?
There can be a number of concerns, which is why you need to select the right food and product photographer for your next project.

Here is a beautiful image of multiple door handle products we shot for S-R Automotive. Each of their major customers are represented here, General Motors, Toyota, Honda, Ford and Chrysler. We photographed these in our studio and uploaded the images for a same day sales presentation.
